Canadian bacon with cheddar cheese, classic poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. This unique way to make hash has peppers and Canadian bacon to zip up the traditional hash. Good portion. Delicious coffee, too.

The service at Helens diner is horrible I've never been in a restaurant and waited 20 plus mins for a menu. Then another 10 mins for coffee Me and my family where neglected by the wait staff so badly another diner patron said something to the waitress for us. The restaurant could use a good clean and better staff. When we did finally get our food it was cold and wasn't worth the wait.

We stayed at the Tidewater inn and probably would never have visited except that Helen's is in the back of the pool building on the hotel property. This place would be easy to miss if you're looking for the Helen's sign- look for the tidewater inn and park in back behind the main central building.
We went in with zero expectations and were pleasantly surprised! Staff was friendly and food was great. The corned beef hash was a special but it was delicious and should definitely be added to the menu- great flavor with bell peppers added to the classic recipe, served with perfectly fried eggs. The short rib Benedict was also really good- I was intrigued by the sweet chili hollandaise and while it was a little sweet, it was unique and I'd order it again. Home fries were nice and crispy, and coffee was good (hard to find decent coffee on the cape at most of the breakfast joints I've been to). Overall a great experience!! Loved the kitschy interior too- very cute. -

Very busy diner. Could use more staff but the lady doing the cooking was terrific. She was turning out everything on the menu, and it was delicious! She was organized and cool under pressure.

Restaurant is located behind the tidewater inn not on the side street, you have to go through the hotel parking lot to get to it. Service was very slow but it was understaffed I believe. The tables were not cleaned in a timely manner the people beside us came in 10 minutes after us and got their food about 10 minutes before we did. I got the Cape Cod special thinking it was going to be a big meal but it as you can see from the pictures I only got about 8 or 10 home fries and my girlfriend got the hash omelette with even less home fries. The bacon was overcooked as was the sausage patty. I got up ready to walk out but I checked the grill and the omelette was on there after about 35 minutes. We stayed at the Tidewater so it was convenient but I'm sure we could've found a much better place nearby.
